lyrics

Turn your back to the light and slip away
The time is now to run and hide from your dismay
I’ve watched a thousand suns they rise and fall the same
Shut down your mind and sleep tonight, there’s no one to blame

Rest is a light that flickers across the dark you bicker
“What could I have done?”
The silence keeps revealing, the things we are not healing
You cannot break free

But this too will end tonight
The wind rushed by from heights that you leaped to avoid the fight
Close your eyes and feel the rush and excitement this time
Is there no shame in defeat as the ground leaves your feet if you tried?
No sympathy will amount to the loss that we felt when you died

The lines of my surroundings became more clear as time passed by
Silhouettes regained their contents as daybreak broke into the sky
Subconsciously revealing the things that you are feeling,
Thoughts that pass you by
In dreams that we give meaning, like shadows intervening
Calls with no reply

Slip away, your free fall is ending so wipe away your tears
Can’t you hear? The calm is calling so why persist to fear
But this too will end tonight
So what keeps you up tonight?
